Here are some pictures and updates from Richard
Avalon after his recent trip to Europe to see how the Mitchell Wing builders
there were doing with their projects. Thanks to Richard for providing
these and keeping us informed on the latest news related to Don Mitchell's
designs. Click on the pictures for an expanded view.

Richard visited with Jean Claude Bertin and checked
out his B-10 with this slick pilots pod for cold weather flying.
He has owned this ship for 15 years and has over 800 hours on it.
Richard also visited with Bernard Fournier. He used
to be a B-10 hangglider pilot and is now building a two place U-2 he calls
the U-22. It's quite an airplane with several new ideas and improvements.
Richard met up first with Johan Prins (right). He
was Richard's tour guide and spoke French, German and English.
Johan is almost finished with his B-10 (no picture) and will be flying
soon. He did a great job on his wing and has installed a nifty folding
prop, which Richard hopes to make available soon. He visited with
Jean Lozio (left), who is building a really nice U-2. His workmanship
is superb, all the gussets are round and, titanium and other exotic materials
are used throughout the ship. He should be ready for flight by next
spring.

Richard visited with Wolfgang Uhl and was very
impressed with his beautiful U-2. He flew it for us and it performs
very well with the Rotax 503 motor installed. For two other pictures
